Gavin Marshall founded Magenta in 1994 and is the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Gavin holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Trent University and a Master of Business Administration, with a specialization in finance, from Queen’s University. After graduation, Gavin held progressively more senior positions with a number of Canadian financial institutions, primarily in the areas of credit and mortgage underwriting.

Gavin had successfully invested in mortgages for his own account for many years, prior to the establishment of Magenta. His personal investment in the Magenta MICs is currently $6.4 million.

Gavin is currently the Chairman of Trent University’s Philanthropic Advisory Council.

In 2019, Gavin was inducted into Canadian Mortgage Professional’s Hall of Fame and named to the Mortgage Global 100 List.

Greg is the Chief Operating Officer at Magenta and has been with the team since June 2020. Prior to joining Magenta, Greg was the Senior Manager of Analytics and Business Intelligence for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League. Greg holds a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University, with specializations in analytics and marketing.

Tim is the Chief Financial Officer at Magenta and has been with the team since March 2020. Prior to joining Magenta, Tim worked in hedge fund administration and operational risk management roles in Halifax. Tim holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University with specializations in finance and analytics, respectively. He finished an MSc in analytics from the same institution, where his research focused around machine learning, text analytics and behavioural analytics. Tim has been a CFA Charterholder since 2018.

Molly is the Associate Vice President, Operations at Magenta and has been with the team since January 2021. Prior to joining Magenta, Molly worked as a management liability underwriter at Chubb Insurance. Molly holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration from Smith School of Business with specializations in digital transformation and analytics.

Alex is the Vice President of Operations & Partnerships at Magenta and has been with the team since January 2016. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration from the Smith School of Business, with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

In 2020, Alex was named a Rising Star by Canadian Mortgage Professional.

Christine is Magenta’s Vice-President, HR. Most recently she was the HR Director at Sargent and Greenleaf in Kentucky, U.S.A., where she implemented comprehensive human resource programs to develop the strategic vision of the company post corporate carve out. Prior to that, Christine held senior positions, developing, and executing organizational growth, training, recruitment, and orientation at various companies.

Christine has a Master of Human Resources Management from York University and is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

Sherri joined Magenta in December 2022. Sherri joins Magenta with a vast amount of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University, a Certificate in Social Media from the University of British Columbia, is a certified tea sommelier with the Tea Association of Canada and is currently pursuing her Masters of Business Administration with the Edinburgh School of Business, Heriot Watt University.

Paul Campbell is Senior Director, Mortgage Originations at Magenta. He has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years and has worn many hats, including Underwriter, Mortgage Agent, and Business Development Manager. Most recently, Paul led business development at Merix Financial and Equitable Bank. In these roles Paul was responsible establishing and building key partnerships within the broker community, going above and beyond to provide brokers and their clients with exceptional customer service.

Erin is the Director of Mortgage Administration at Magenta and has been with the team since June 2013. Prior to joining Magenta, Erin worked as a law clerk for 15 years. Erin holds a diploma from Loyalist College.

Alisha is Magenta's Director, Communications and has been with the team since February 2022. Her experience is rooted within the financial sector having held various roles in industries such as life insurance, insolvency and mutual funds. She has completed the Life License Qualification Program, the Canadian Securities Course as well as the Digital Strategy and Communications Management certificate with the University of Toronto. Alisha holds a Bachelor’s degree in French Studies from the University of Guelph, and is fully bilingual in French.

Nathalie is the Director, Product Marketing at Magenta and has been with the team since January 2020. Prior to joining Magenta, Nathalie worked as a research lead and marketing specialist at Branded Cities Canada, an advertising agency in Toronto, where she earned two Canadian Marketing Association awards for excellence in consumer research. Nathalie holds a Master of Business Administration with specializations in marketing, sales and analytics from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
